0:00: NBC will
interrupt as necessary
0:00: Jello Program announcement with
Jack Benny, commercial, applause, Jack Benny
introduction by Don.
2:43: Jack Benny begins. The main premise
of today's show is a critical analysis of
last week's performance by Benny of Dr. Jeckyl
and Mr. Hyde. Dennis is the only one who appreciated
Benny's acting. Don has written a sequel to
Jeckyl and Hyde that cleverly incorporates
Jello into the sketch.

(7:10 p.m. EST): Program interruption: The
entire regular department of the Sheriff and
police office has been put on alert with 12
hour shifts [it's not clear what county the
announcer is referring to. Likely a county
in the Los Angeles area]. The regular county
defense program is functioning. Citizens are
"urged to remain calm and avoid all unnecessary
confusion because of hysteria." Citizen
volunteers are asked to go to their nearest
police or fire station and offer their services
if they wish to help. There is no immediate
cause for alarm. |
11:02: Program resumes.
21:05 (7:21 p.m. EST): Program interruption:

Japanese reply to Secretary Hull.
21:35: Program resumes.
