News from Italy: More fighting in Libya
and Egypt. Unconfirmed reports of major Italian
offensive against British forces in Egypt,
to capture the Suez Canal.
From Berlin:
1). Possible evacuation of the British government
from London. Wealthy citizens are leaving
for country homes or for Canada to avoid London
bombings.
2). Bombing of Buckingham Palace is a big
story.

From London:
1). Clear night helped both attackers and
defenders. More planes over London last night
than on previous nights. Germans dropped what
appeared to be bags of fire bombs. London
firefighters handled the fires.
2). Many of London night workers are becoming
volunteer firefighters.
3). There have been incidents of people being
trapped in rubble for days before being rescued. |
4). RAF bombed French coast.
5). Germans seem to want to intentionally
bomb key landmarks as part of pscychological
warfare.

1). Germany now has three million men in occupied
France. Churchill warned that German invasion
may be imminent.
2). Talk of giving more weapons to England.
3). Final legislative action on conscription
bill may come today.
4). Penalties for businessmen who don't cooperate
