Today I uploaded all of the work done since April on the WWII music section. The major analysis of the materials will have to wait until the next revision, but there are now over 500 WWII songs available, divided into 13 categories. This was an enormous amount of work, and no doubt there are many errors that will need fixing. Please send along any errors you discover, and enjoy the music.

That's it for WWII revisions for now. It's time to plunge into the post-war years and resume replacing all the old pages that are still out there covering 1946-2000.

April 3, 2010
The entire WWII American Homefront archives has now been updated. Next up is a fairly small section called "The G.I. at Leisure," featuring items reflecting the off-duty activities of the American service man and woman. After that I'll be revising the two existing WWII music sections.

  • Revision of the WWII archives has begun. In subsection 1, the multimedia timelines for September 1939 through December 6, 1941, and for the attack on Pearl Harbor have been revised.
  • Many WWII items have been re-scanned or re-photographed.

December 3, 2009:

  • Revisions of the 1930s archives are now complete. Some interesting news sources were added here, including a complete copy of The Technocrats' Magazine from 1933, which advocated replacing our captalist system with one based on energy credits.
  • Part of a 1914 Sears, Robebuck & Co. housewares catalogue was added.
  • More images were added to the Quack Medicine section.

With revisions of the 1930s out of the way, it's time to plunge into the WWII section. I've fretted for hours about how best to organize the material. I have decided on a structure and will begin to implement it soon. First up will be the creation of multimedia timelines like the "road to war" timeline I recently uploaded to the 1930s section. The war years will be split into 5 timelines. I'll post each one as it's finished. The one currently in work covers from 1939 to December 6, 1941.

November 1, 2009:

  • Uploaded a 1915 Sears, Roebuck & Co. grocery catalogue.
  • Revised some errors found from the previous uploads. If you find errors, no matter how small, please send them along via the contact link.
  • Did some background work on the upcoming Philippine-American War section.
  • Began revising old pages from the "1933-1935" sub-section.

September 7, 2009:

  • Hopefully, all links to the old pages (1933-present) are now active. A few of the old archives have been split apart and their contents won't become available again until I revise those sections.
  • A new sub-section, "1930-1932" has been added in the 1930-1939 section.
  • Next up for revision is the "1933-1935" sub-section.

August 25, 2009:
It's been about 16 months since I uploaded any new material or posted revisions to the Authentic History Center. During that time, many hundreds of hours have been put in behind the scenes. The last 4 months have been spent revising the site chronologically. This has taken a staggering amount of time. At this point, the site has been revised through the 1920s. This means that archives have been revised, new archives have been posted, and the latest template is being applied to all pages. Additionally, there has been significant restructuring at the base of the site.

Under ideal circumstances, I would wait until all sections are revised before uploading. However, some of the material I've created I need as curriculum for the upcoming school year. Others will also find the revisions useful. The down side, however, is that the

navigation links for the pages covering the 1930s to the present will not work. When you encounter this problem, you can always go to the home page and navigate from there. Over the next few months I will work to revise those old sections until there are no more old pages. In the meantime please enjoy the new material.
