One of the longest
running and most beloved of all radio shows. Jim Jordan
played Fibber McGee, a teller of tall tales and incurable
windbag. Marian Jordan played Molly McGee, his long-suffering
wife. Other characters included Teeny, the little girl
who dropped in frequently to pester McGee, and Mrs.
Abigal Uppington. One of the most beloved remembrances
from this show was known as the closet gag, a special
effects challenge that would have scores of items cascading
down on McGee when he opened the closet door looking
for something. The show started off slow in 1932 and
really didn't begin to take shape until 1934. This show
is from 1936.
