The
Asch building housing the Triangle Shirt Waist
Factory in 1911, located at the northwest
corner of Washington Place and Greene street.
The Triangle Shirtwaist Company occupied the
top three of ten floors.

More
than 30 firefighting vehicles arrived on the
scene within minutes. Firefighters brought
with them the most modern firefighting equipment.
The tallest ladder available, however, only
reached the 6th floor, 2 full stories below
the floor where the fire began.
